Exciting News

Well, I'm quite excited and very pleased to announce that I have been asked to join the Design Team at Daisy Doodles   I'm really looking forward to the new challenges that lay ahead, for months now I've been determined to explore more into the world of 'stamping' so this is forcing my hand and making me follow through to be true to myself - many thanks for the opportunity Jules.  I've shied away from DT membership in the past due to work commitments etc. (just completed my NVQ) but now I'm ready to give it a go and progress my 'hobby' (erm...obssession lol).  There will be lots of challenges coming up so please watch this space as I begin my journey and ask you to share with me my exciting new venture.

Tonights little efforts

Good evening all, well another weekend has come and almost gone, had a fab weekend in London with friends and got back this afternoon and thought a little crafting was in order....these 2 are my projects for today.....a friends daughter is really 'into' Danny Dyer and it's her birthday soon so I hope she likes this :o) it's a 7" square card and I've tried to keep with the black and white theme to go with the photo of him.  The next card is from a Hunkydory pack for someone wanting a card for a 'sophisticated' lady - well I think this fits the bill, again a 7" square.

Tuesdays Post

Good evening all,  here we are Tuesday already! The holiday is such a distant memory now with the tan fading fast....   I need something to occupy my mind, a new challenge, so I'm looking out for new styles of card crafting to try - can you suggest anything?  I'm throwing a dinner party in a few weeks so I might turn my hand to table decorations and see how that goes :o)
Anyway enough of the chatter, here are my latest creations.  It's always difficult making sympathy cards so I played it safe with the floral theme.  These toppers and card are from a Hunkydory kit I got before Christmas.  The chocolate coloured card is an A4 large card, I was asked to create this for a group of people to sign, the lilac card is an A5 card.  I'd love to know your opinion and also what you have used as images for sympathy cards?  Have a wonderful evening all xx

A New Year begins....

Well hello everyone, my first post of the year after a wonderful long hot holiday in sunny Florida, well it's just a distant memory now after being back at work for a week :o(  I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year and I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best for 2012.

Well I've made a fantastic discovery this year.....I ordered some CD roms from Fee J Designs after seeing the 'G is for Girls' CD recently and thought what a good idea, I usually struggle to find stuff for baby cards.  I also ordered the 'B is for Boys' cd and the 'Pandamonium' which I can't wait to get stuck into!  I needed to make a baby girl card yesterday so I tried the new cd and all I can say is WOW!  Why oh why haven't I used these cd's before?  I was amazed at just how much is on these CDs and the quality of the images are 2nd to none.  Everything is easy to find and a brilliant layout means that everything you need for each image is held in the same place, this means no trawling through loads of other needless images trying to find matching papers, tags boxes etc etc.  Honestly you must give these cd's a try to believe it!  http://www.feejdesigns.co.uk/

Here's my first completed project from the 'G is for Girls' CD.  I've taken some A3 pink centura pearl cardstock from Crafters Companion and folded to make A4 card base.  I've matted n layered with silver mirri and co-ordinating papers from cd to match the decoupaged image.  I've punched the corners using a Martha Stewart punch bought on my Florida hol (teehehe).  Joined 2 pieces together and hid the join with a matching paper ribbon from CD.  Added decoupage to one side, created sentiment for the other side using Centura Pearl card die cut out using Spellbinders dies and Cuttlebug machine (could you be without it??) and finished off with some ribbon and gems.  Hope you like the result.
