Hunkydory

Came home from work to a large pack form C&C, firstly shocked at speed of deliver then couldn't wait to get stuck in to my bargain goodies.  Kid in a candy shop comes to mind lol.....who could resist Members Day offers!  I got all sorts including the Blockbuster, the glittery adorable scorable, adorable scorable, the amazing mirri card offer - so I just had to play!  This is the result from just 1 of the themes ie 1 topper sheet and 2 backing cards, of course I've used my own card blanks for bases but WOW, seriously gotta luv Hunkydory for quality quickies!!!  Let me know what you think.......

8x8 card made using left over bits and a sentiment from an older Hunkydory kit.

8x8 card, just makes you feel all summery!

yet another 8x8 card, so effective I can full the sun shining and melting the icecream.

5x7 card for this one - don't you just love the jokes on the lolly sticks!

Spring has Sprung!

This weeks Daisy Doodles DT card is for the challenge 'Spring'.  Here I have used Daisy's image 'Spring has Sprung' which I have coloured in using my Spectrum Noir pens in lovely spring colours.  This image opitomises spring to me, the fresh new life bursting through the ground in beautiful colours.  So pop along to Daisy doodles Challenge page and join in the fun, we all thrive on a challenge!
I have made an A5 foldback card using a lovely yellow centura pearl card, cut out shape of topper using spellbinders and mounted on some green card I embossed in my cuttlebug.  I punched a ribbon of the same green card and added yellow ribbon and paper flowers from my stash, added a few gems and created a sentiment and verse to complete.  Happy Easter & happy crafting :o)

Beading with Breakfast!

Good morning all, been up sinces daft o clock, keep waking up with jewellery designs going around in my head!  OMG where is my 'Off' button and WHY didn't I discover my love of jewellery making sooner haha!  Sara Davies has been tempting me for over a year now and I finally gave in during Beaders Companion's 1st birthday celebrations last week, Sarah Millsop is my new hero and there are some fab video tutorials on You Tube for the likes of me (beginner).  I can't stop!!  Oh dear - I will have to find some classes locally so I can learn all the delicate techniques and the more elaborate designs - it is soooooooooooo ADDICTIVE, and so many talented people out there, like Rachel Brown (Facebook, I'm a Beaders Companion) - some of her designs are simply stunning - one day Rodney, one day lol!  Thanks to everyone for the words of support and encouragement and a special mention to Emma Goddard whose always there cheering me on (big hugs).  So for Breakfast this morning a nice strawberry and blueberry smoothie and BEADING!!!!  Not too shabby if I do say so myself:

From the black cherry collection of beads from Beaders Companion.
I'll make some earring to match this later.

Part of the 'Freebie' mini kit (apart from spacers which where left overs from another kit)
that came for spending just £20 during Beaders Companion Birthday week!

New DT Challenge

Good morning all, can't believe we're practically half way through March already - where does the time go?

This weeks Daisy Doodles DT post is entitled "Tie it Up", using ribbons and cords of your choice is the only stipulation.  Card 1 is using the image 'Daisy Daisy' which I have coloured using my promarkers, mounted on an 8" x 8" card which has been layered with daisy glitter card from my stock, then using my cuttlebug I embossed some co-ordinating cardstock and layered as seen.  I added organza ribbon bows all down the 'spine' to give the effect of a memory book, some ruffled lace ribbon around the coloured image, some gorgeous paper flowers and a sentiment (Mothers Day in mind).  AND as an extra treat I did another card as I couldn't decide which image I wanted to go with this time!!!  It's a cheeky littel Frog called Ribbit, I think he's so cute I just had to add him too.  A simple design with a few matching ribbons to the layered image (spellbinder circles and scalloped circles), to give it a rosette look and a simple stamped sentiment and mounted onto a shaped 6" square card - simple maybe but I think it's quite effective.
So, get yourself over to Daisy Doodles Challenge blog and have some fun with this challenge as I have.

Have a great day!  Hugs Lynne :o)

Image Inspirations - Easter Egg (Daisy Doodles Challenge)

Here we have a couple of ideas for this weeks 'Image Inspirations' Easter Egg challenge.  This week Daisy Doodles are offering this gorgeous image at an amazing price of just 50cents, pop over to the website here:  EGG  I'm sure the children would enjoy colouring their own Easter cards to relatives and may just keep them quiet long enough for you to enjoy a coffee too heehehehe!
My first image is an A5 side stepper card, I've matt n layered and added items from my crafty stash to compliment this loveley big Easter Egg main image which I have coloured using my Promarkers.

My 2nd project is using this design as a topper for a sweetie goodie bag containing 5 of the scrummy yummy Lindt chocolates!  Who could resist?  Many thanks to the fabulous Kay Rutter (Hougie Board) for her inspiration and clever knowledge of folding papers to create this little bag from a single sheet of A4 paper.  Again the image is coloured using my Promarkers and I've used a Spellbinders die to create the flap closure.

Bits and Bobbies

I've had a bit of a slow week mojo wise and I've forced myself to 'get over it' today after a wonderful evening out with friends last night - no hangover (honestly), just a little lethargic I think, but we all need a good blow out from time to time!  And so without further ado.......
This first 2 cards are from Crafters Companion, they have a new range of Beatrix Potter die cut decoupage and paper pads and you can check them out on their website at: Crafters Companion - which I've created the first card from, I think this may end up being a 'New Baby Boy' card (I'm awaiting a new Die which would help this - can't wait for it to come).  The 2nd card is from their FREE 'Download of the Month', you have to be a member to access this, but don't be shy, anyone can join, just go to their website and register for free!  Whilst you're there don't worry if all kinds of goodies fall into your shopping basket - it happens to me all the time :o)

The 2nd 2 cards are from mixing several Hunkydory elements ie blank shaped cards, magazine freebies and parts of collections I've bought in the past.
Hope the rest of your weekend is very enjoyable - big hugs and happy crafting :o)  Lynne x
